Publisher: Course Technology PTR | Pages: 296 | 2006-05-30 | ISBN: 1598632205 | PDF | 35 Mb

Boudoir photography does not require its subject to be a beautiful, physically flawless woman. It does not require the use of extravagantly expensive equipments, props, and studio space. In fact, the very essence of boudoir photography is the idea that its subject is not a professional model and is not even necessarily in the boudoir. No longer confined to the idea of heavy makeup, lingerie, and the bedroom, the new age of boudoir photography is casual, sensual, and sexy. That is the premise behind Digital Boudoir Photography. Firmly grasping the freedom that digital photography affords, this book offers tips and techniques that allow anyone with a digital camera the ability to take attractive photographs of any woman.

About the Author
On December 30, 2006, David D. Busch had an unprecedented 11 different books ranked in the Top 100 of Amazon.com’s Digital Photography Best Seller list. These included four books in the Top 12 (#7: Mastering Digital SLR Photography; #8: Nikon D200 Digital Field Guide; #9: Digital SLR Cameras and Photography for Dummies; #12 Nikon D50 Digital Field Guide.) He had five more books ranked in the Top 50, and two ranked between 50-100.

When Michael Carr of About.com named the top five digital photography books for beginners, the #1 and #2 choices were his Course Technology book Mastering Digital Photography, and Digital Photography All-in-One Desk Reference for Dummies. Busch has combined writing and photography his entire career. A former newspaper photographer, he was invited to move to Rochester, N.Y. to work on the Eastman Kodak Company account, writing several thousand articles for leading photography magazines such as The Rangefinder, The Professional Photographer, and Petersen’s PhotoGraphic. He also operated his own commercial studio and photo lab and was a sports photographer/sports information director for a Rochester college.

Four years later, he became a traveling photojournalist, visiting 48 of the 50 states and several foreign countries in a 20-year span, writing articles illustrated with his photographs. For the past 15 years Busch has concentrated on books and magazine articles (for publications like Popular Photography & Imaging), with a special emphasis on imaging topics. He has reviewed digital cameras for CNet Networks and Computer Shopper, in 1990 wrote one of the first books on scanners and in 1995 authored one of the earliest books on digital photography (Digital Photography, MIS Press, 1995.) Two of the 98 books Busch has written since 1983 earned “Best Book” honors at the Computer Press Awards.

Photoshop Blending Modes Cookbook for Digital Photographers

Photoshop Blending Modes Cookbook for Digital Photographers
Publisher: Ilex (Nov 2005) | ISBN 1904705685 | PDF | 176 pages | 66 MB

Advanced Photoshop Magazine, January, 2006
"A thorough hands-on set of lessons on the mysteries of one of Photoshop's most powerful features. Read and learn."

The power of Adobe's flagship application, Photoshop, is legendary. Buried deep within its palettes, menus, tools, and dialog boxes lie features that are either so little understood or simply so demanding of time that they have never had their full potential aired. One of these features, "blending modes", controls how pixels in an image are affected by combining the image with the same - or another - image. In itself, a simple enough process. However, the sheer number and variety of options, and the way different colours behave when blends are applied, means that it requires endless hours of trial and error to discover how a particular blending mode - or combination of blends - will affect an image. And now, with the recent explosion of the digital photography phenomenon, a whole new variety of image-maker has entered the Photoshop studio: the digital "art" photographer. These enthusiasts, with their voracious appetite for creative imagery, demand an easy route into learning everything that Photoshop has to offer. Amazingly, no book has ever attempted to exploit and explain the hidden power of this incredible feature of Photoshop - until now.

The Photographer's Eye Composition and Design for Better Digital Photos
Image
Michael Freeman. The Photographer's Eye: Composition and Design for Better Digital PhotosISBN: 0240809343 | Elsevier Science & Technology Books | May 2007 | 192 pages | PDF | 27 MB

Design is the single most important factor in creating a successful photograph. The ability to see the potential for a strong picture and then organize the graphic elements into an effective, compelling composition has always been one of the key skills in making photographs.

Digital photography has brought a new, exciting aspect to design - first because the instant feedback from a digital camera allows immediate appraisal and improvement; and second because image-editing tools make it possible to alter and enhance the design after the shutter has been pressed. This has had a profound effect on the way digital photographers take pictures.

The Photographer's Eye shows how anyone can develop the ability to see and shoot great digital photographs. The book explores all the traditional approaches to composition and design, but crucially, it also addresses the new digital technique of shooting in the knowledge that a picture will later be edited, manipulated, or montage to result in a final image that may be very different from the one seen in the viewfinder.

Master Lightning Guide , « For Portrail Photographers » Image

Master Lightning Guide, «For Portrail Photographers»
Amherst Media Publishing | ISBN: 1584281251 | 2004| PDF | 130 pages | 12.7 Mb

What is a portrait? The simple answer to the question,at least as defined by most dictionaries, is that a por-trait is a likeness of a person that features the face. If you've seen anyearly photographic portraiture, you know that these photos rarely pre-sented much more. The long exposures and slow emulsions oftennecessitated using a head brace, a metal yolk bolted to the back of aposing chair that served to immobilize the subject's head. Typical expo-sures were many seconds long and success was often measured in non-blurred images. Faces were recorded; emotion and nuance were not.

1736 pages | Routledge; 1 edition (August 24, 2007) | ISBN: 0415972353 | PDF | 19 Mb

The Encyclopedia of Nineteenth-Century Photography is the first comprehensive encyclopedia of world photography up to the beginning of the twentieth century. It sets out to be the standard, definitive reference work on the subject for years to come.

Its coverage is global – an important ‘first’ in that authorities from all over the world have contributed their expertise and scholarship towards making this a truly comprehensive publication. The Encyclopedia presents new and ground-breaking research alongside accounts of the major established figures in the nineteenth century arena.

Coverage includes all the key people, processes, equipment, movements, styles, debates and groupings which helped photography develop from being ‘a solution in search of a problem’ when first invented, to the essential communication tool, creative medium, and recorder of everyday life which it had become by the dawn of the twentieth century.

The sheer breadth of coverage in the 1200 essays makes the Encyclopedia of Nineteenth-Century Photography an essential reference source for academics, students, researchers and libraries worldwide.

Pages: 512 | PDF | Focal Press (2005-01-28 ) | ISBN: 0240805585 | 12,5 Mb

Every film or video shoot calls for at least two camera assistants. Camera assistants (or first and second ACs, as they're known) have the important job of maintaining the camera, readying it for use, troubleshooting (such as knowing what to do when a camera drops into the ocean), and preparing it for transport. The Camera Assistant's Manual teaches the complete workflow in easy-to-understand terms and does not assume prior knowledge.
